The East Islip NYC Field Trip Guide
We’re finally getting out of the building and heading to the city for the day. Between touring the Intrepid and surviving Times Square, it's going to be a pretty tough trip. But to make sure nobody gets left behind or messes up the timing, here is the actual breakdown of the schedule you need to know:
6:45–7:00 a.m. | The Early Drop-Off
You need to be dropped off by the cafeteria. Yes, it’s ridiculously early. Grab some coffee, wake up, and make sure you check in with your chaperone.
7:15 a.m. | Buses Depart
The buses leave at 7:15 a.m. sharp. They aren't going to wait around while you stroll through the parking lot, so don't be that person holding everyone up. Get on the bus idiot.
10:00 a.m. | The Intrepid Museum
We’re kicking things off with a tour of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Getting to walk around a massive aircraft carrier, check out fighter jets, maybe drive a couple while we're there.
12:30 p.m. | Lunch in Times Square
We are heading to Planet Hollywood in Times Square for lunch. The menu is linked below, and yes, there is a vegetarian option available. It’s Times Square, so expect it to be loud, crowded, and completely chaotic. And don't touch dirty Elmo.
2:00 p.m. | Heading Home
We depart the city and head back to East Islip. This is your time to put your headphones in, try to find a charger, and sleep the whole way back.
Approx. 4:00 p.m. | Arrival Back at School
We should be back around 4:00 p.m. Important: You need to text your ride when we are 20 minutes away from the school. Don't leave them waiting in the lot forever. Pick-up is in the exact same spot: by the cafeteria.
